This bed was the grand prize winner of the 2019 veneertech craftsman challenge contest.
The bed was all done with hand tools. Sapele wood was carved and sculpted from solid 3 inch thick stock. The side tables were sculpted to resemble rose leaves.
The marquetry panel is made from Imbuya Pommelle veneers for the main background. The inlaid wood roses were cut from naturally colored maple holly and sycamore woods. The leaves were 2 dyed colored woods.
The side panel has a sterling silver spiderweb inlaid with a jasper stone spider. The platform has 4 solid maple dovetailed drawer boxes with soft close guides.
The bed is a queen size but could be ordered as a king also. The headboard is 84 inches tall and about 11 feet wide.
This is my personal bed but I would be open to selling to a person who would really appreciate it
