Back To The Future Style Gun Fighter Rig For 1911 And Single Action Army Revolver
This is a project a fellow down in Georgia contracted me to build for him. He wanted it to be the same style as the one that Marty (Michael J Fox) used in the Back to the Future 3 movie with the exception that he wanted a holster for both his 1911 and a Colt single action Army revolver. The bullet loops were to hold 45 ACP rounds. With a couple photo graphs I was able to accomplish this.
I used 10 ounce premium leather for the outer shell and 4-5 ounce for the inner lining on the belt and both holster. This made them rock solid and this rig will last lifetimes. All of the stitching is done was done by hand. This made the belt very time consuming due to having to punch all the holes first. I died the belt tan and rubbed it down to give it a vintage look. To finish it off I sealed it on the inside and out. Even though there is no tooling on this rig it is one of my favorites to date.
