Farmhouse Sideboard With Chestnut Top

Our client Beth grew up in an 1800's farmhouse in Connecticut, originally settled and built by her ancestors. The front porch was made of American Chestnut, a wood no longer available because it was wiped out by the Chestnut blight in the 1930's. When the farmhouse was torn down, Beth saved the lumber from that porch. We used that Chestnut to make the top of this sideboard. It is Beth's Legacy sideboard.
This sideboard has a subtle bow-front, a design detail which adds visual interest to the piece.
