I cannot exaggerate how wonderful Jonathan is to work with. He was friendly, responsive, intuitive regarding our needs, and flexible. Most important, the album he created was superb in its look, feel, and craftsmanship. I find myself hoping to have another such project soon so as to be able to work with him again!
This book is made in the traditional way, with pages sewn in signatures. The book uses watermarked 100% cotton ivory Southworth resume paper. The covers are thin strong plywood, lightly stained, and soft cream-colored leathers. Leather bands go all the way around the book, front and back, and snap close with two magnetic snaps. These open easily, but close firmly.
The edges and corners of the wood have been sanded and slightly rounded. The wood has been stained with MinWax Special Walnut stain. I was going to varnish the boards, but I love the feel of the bare wood, so I just sanded them down a bit with Emery paper.
This book is a delight to look at, and to feel in your hands, and will be a delight to use. Leather and wood being what they are, the book you get will look a bit different from the book pictured.
