Blanket Chest
This blanket chest is handcrafted from cherry and walnut ,poplar was use for the back and drawer sides. The doors are hand carved from 1 1/2" thick cherry to give a deep relief of two owls perched on a tree limb with a moon behind them. The chest has an arched top and custom molding to frame it. The doors are arched and the stand has an arch in the front brace, tying the design of the piece all together. There is plenty of room for blanket,sheets and pillows. There are also two drawers inside for smaller items. The rack on the bottom can hold a basket. This piece is finished with a clear shellac, rubbed out.
I can build this same chest and customize the doors to your liking. The doors can also be done with just panel doors and no carvings.
