With this piece, I was just feeling how incredibly varied and beautiful the many shades of green can be. I wanted to create something that would show just how soft and mild, but also strong and powerful green can be. I set the outside border and the 4 corner triangles with dark green marble, but chose calm piney greens and grey greens to move from the center out. Drawing on traditional quilt patterns, I set this using the Square-On-Point pattern, and painted the frame a cool grey green to contrast with the dark marble tile at the edge.
Set on a pine base and frame, this is rugged as well. as beautiful - 16" x 16" with hanging hardware attached
