This is my first Cabinetry project from 2009; a small piece to store and display a set of inherited chess pieces. The style was intended to be as utilitarian as possible, and as affordable as possible on a student budget.
The sides are solid Red Oak, mitered together for an appealing joint when paired with an inset door. The door and shelf are acrylic sheets shaped to fit as closely together within the cabinet as possible.
Currently, this cabinet resides over my parent's home office desk, looking much the same as it does in this photo.
Dimensions: 14 inches wide and 13 1/2 inches tall, 2 inches deep (from the wall)
