Contrast Flat File

A study in contrasts: the sheen of steel against the texture of wood, wide grains against tight, light tones against dark.

The frame of the case is Western Red Cedar stained with red mahogany, the drawer fronts are Douglas fir, the drawer pulls of Brazilian Rosewood, all amplified by half a dozen coats of clear shellac.

The overall dimensions are 14 x 18 x 24 inches (36 x 46 x 61 cm).
And it embodies a secret.

Behind the drawers is a secret box which can be accessed only when all four drawers are removed. This secret chamber provides excellent hiding for your coin collection, deeds and trusts, and half a dozen derringers.

This design is scalable; twice the width, depth and number of drawers can easily be accommodated. So too can it be free-standing to shoulder or waist height, if desired.

And you need not store in the flat file your topographical maps of Tuva, have a pocket watch collection? 18th Century dining service? Ball park program collection?

This is the cabinet that will protect your goodies while rendering them readily available for access and appreciation.
