Custom Decorative Boxes
These are samples of the custom boxes we make.
The 8"x"8 small jewelry box is made from highly figured Tiger Maple. The custom marquetry inlay is composed of a variety of contrasting woods, selected for their natural colors to affect the design of the sunflower.
The 12"x12" solid Cherry heirloom chest was made specifically to protect the set of very fine doll tea party dishes pictured. It has all solid brass hardware and a custom monogrammed lid, inlaid with marquetry.
The custom jewelry box with the marquetry top, was commissioned by a client who wanted a special place for a special piece of jewelry. It is 5" x 6" and just 2" tall, and the design on the lid is a rendering in wood of the design on the pendant to be kept in the box. The lid is hinged as shown with solid brass hinges. It is made of solid Cherry. The woods in the marquetry inlay are Paduak and Osage Orange.
The custom silver chest (16"W x 12"D x 8"H) holds a service of 12, and was sized to fit in a specific location in the dining room. It was requested to replace one of those "simulated wood grain" fiber board chests that came from the big department store. It has ample room for numerous service pieces with an easily accessible tray that pops up when the lid is opened. It is made of solid cherry with maple secondary wood. There is a contrasting walnut band that runs around the perimeter of the top of the case, just below the lid. The top is adorned with a 4" x 4" marquetry design. All hardware is solid brass. The mitered corners are internally splined to ensure the chest remains strong and solid for generations.
