Custom Donation Boxes

We custom designed and built this pair of Donation Boxes for a Connecticut Museum. We worked to come up with a nautical theme, using heart pine for the base, steam bent white oak for the frame of the top, and bent copper for the base trim and interior tray. The unit features a clever hinged door built into the copper pan collection tray that hinges down into the base unit for easy collection of donations. The clear material used for the top is lexan plastic, which is shatter proof. The side handles are 1" thick rope helpful for moving the units.

NOTE: A common concern with donation boxes is security- These boxes have built in deadbolt locks to secure the cash inside. The boxes also have a large cavity in the base unit to place weights such as sand bags, books, etc. to weigh down the unit as to not allow them to be carried away. This technique worked very well for the museum who commissioned these units.
