All painting is done using century-old techniques of glass firing. The paint is made out of finely ground particles of glass, which are fired onto the surface of the glass at temp up to 1250 F. This slow and complicated process is done in a special glass kiln, where the paint vitrifies (fuses itself onto) to the glass, thus becoming its permanent part. It is the same process that has been used beginning from the 12th century when the first stained glass windows were created. It is only enhanced by a wider variety of colors that is available to stained glass artists today. This is the kind of piece that could be a family heirloom, lasting for generations. Any custom work is welcome. Portraits are available.
