This massive table, 60" X 84" was made of white oak from an old barn in Wisconsin. It was gorgeous wood, with very dense growth rings, but over the years it had developed a lot, and I mean a lot, of cracks and checks. Almost none of these cracks were a structural problem but we did spend an awful lot of time and epoxy filling them, de-nailing them and killing bugs. We used heavy bolts, the kind you see on highway guardrails and other highway 'furniture', but those were mostly decorative. We ended up building a number of pieces out of this wood.

This piece came out to $4600.00 with a local delivery. Future prices will depend a lot on the quality of the wood we can find.
