Fabric Sculpture Called Ocean Reef

This Incredible fabric sculpture is created from Silk Organza and Digitally printed silk. It's massive side is 48 x 65 easily becoming the focal point of any room. 5 yards of organza was used to create the center portion of sculpted fabric using the technique of shibori and dyed using Cochineal. Shibori is a labor intensive process that uses heat to manipulate fabric wrapped around objects. This sculpture took over 80 hours and 2 1/2 years of study to create and has 4 "sister" sculptures. It is a landscape of shapes that are reminiscent of the artist's South Florida reefs. Comes mounted and ready to hang, simple dusting with a clean, dry rag is the only cleaning required.
