Being a football fan and fantasy player at times, I was anxious to help Pete from Chicago make an "over the top" top for the trophy for the winner of his fantasy football league. He sent me the first picture which is actually a silver statue in Norway, showing a tough guy locked in combat with 4 infants. Over the top.
He asked me to base my trophy topper on that statue, so I set out to carve each of the elements from poplar wood, attach them all with dowels and epoxy, and paint them with a number of spray enamels to simulate the tarnished look of the original stature.
Pete took the final 12" x 8" x 6" trophy topper and had a trophy manufacturer put it on a typical trophy base.
