This screen of wrought iron with natural finish guards against sparks, plus captures/defuses direct heat and radiates it gently and safely into the living space.

Fireplace benches ("club fenders") come in several models. These hug the hearth and add the extra seating and cozy conversational sections to make spacious rooms more intimate and smaller rooms more spacious.
