Reverse Book Matched Live Edge Dining Table

The Flip Matched Live Edge Dining Table

We believe every slab is a natural work of art and should be preserved in the most natural way possible. A live edge is the unhindered natural edge/shape of a horizontal slab cut from a tree trunk and it is in this raw shape where we find the true beauty of nature. When working with raw slabs we give careful attention to the live edge portion of the slab in order to preserve its natural curvature and aesthetic.

The Flip matched Live Edge Table is a book matched live edge table consisting of two uncut solid American Black Walnut live edge slabs synchronized together. The Flip matched live edge table strays from the orthodox book matched style in the sense that the slabs are not cut and joined together. The raw natural live edge can be seen towards the inner and outer sides of the table. This gives way to a linear void in between the slabs.

The dining table is pictured with a custom fabricated base finished in raw steel. The minimalist and modern design of the base gives the overall table a timeless look. The raw steel is clear coated with a matte finish to keep the metal from rusting over time. Every piece is custom made according to your specifications.

The live edge slabs for the Flip match are specifically chosen in such a manner that the slabs compliment each other's natural curvature on the inner as well as outer live edges. The natural aesthetic provides an endless design that will always be a conversation piece in your home.

We offer heirloom craftsmanship with a lifetime warranty on all of our products. Some times when wood acclimatizes to its environment it "moves" and risks warpage. In order to eliminate this problem we rout the bottom and insert metal C channels that prevents this issue from arising.

With solid hardwoods like Black Walnut, Maple, Ash etc a good drying technique is required and this is why we allow our slabs to air dry for at least 2.5 years (30 months). After this they are put into a kiln for an additional year before they are ready to be used. We adhere to these strict standards in order to ensure that no movement of wood occurs and the quality of our craftsmanship is maintained.

We only use trusted and food grade finishes that ensure the surface will remain safe and protected for years to come. We apply 5-7 coats on every piece we build to ensure the longevity of the finish. Our finishes are primarily matte, but we also offer semi gloss and gloss.
