"Fractured" - An Open Vessel In Pecan
"Fractured" is a hand turned wooden vessel mad from a piece of old growth pecan crotch wood. The original log had a major "split" were branches had stressed the trunk as the tree aged.
The vessel encompasses 6 "stitches" to hold the vessel together. One Cherry,Two Walnut, 2 African Blackwood , and one of coffee grounds and glue.
The vessel has a thin wall and is surprisingly light when you initially pick up the piece. Stands approximately 8" tall and is about 5 inches in diameter at the top.
Finish is 5 coats of lacquer. Sanded and polished between coats.
