Giant Easter Eggs
Produced for a promo shoot for the movie HOPP.
Realistically speaking, making two molds (left side & right side), vacuforming 8 parts, cutting/glueing/fiberglassing and then the bondo work, sanding & painting should be a 10-12 day job.
But we work in Hollywood and they needed them in four days. We met their deadline, although the paint was drying when the truck showed up.
Components:
"plug" molds hand carved from 4lb foam
ABS plastic parts made thru vacuforming process
two EGGS were cut at the bottom & fiberglassed at the seams
all bondo'd extensively & sanded smooth
painted with roller & brush
Price is per EGG at current rate, as we already own the mold. Previous client paid $10,000 for four EGGS due to the labor intensive mold making process and SUPER rush.
