Hand Painted Roses On Slate
This pair of old roof slate tiles are painted with either pink roses or pale peach roses in acrylic paints. Behind the growing roses, depicted in every phase of life from bud to rose hip is the suggestion of a brick wall. Butterflies are painted in mid-flight and a bee is also visiting the flowers. Each piece I do is hand painted and unique. A leather cord is threaded through the original nail holes in the slate and is secured with a knot and a pretty ceramic bead. The slate is approximately 24' tall and 12" wide and 7 pounds in weight. I could do something especially for you. Do you have a favorite flower you would like me to paint for you?
