This heart-shaped map basket is a one of a kind piece made from folded and glued strips of an old map of Philadelphia that I wove into the painted metal frame.
This piece took about four hours to make in my home studio.
I made this piece for the same reason I make all of my crafts: I love to work with paper, and I hate to see anything go to waste, especially if I know it has real potential to be beautiful.
The map was one in a lot of maps given to me by a freecycler. The basket was a thrift store purchase.
It has a shabby chic feel that reminds me of country living or a beach house.
