The blue cart base was picked up at a garage on a whim, not knowing what I could do with it. After playing around with it and some pieces of wood in the the shop it became clear.

The result is 34"x25" coffee table with a asymetrical hindged top panels that open to reveal a shallow cubby perfect for stashing, remotes, magazines, or a blanket. The two piece top allows access to the cubby without having to clear off the whole table.

The base is a stain blue wooden cart (pine?) with cart iron wheel. the top is reclaimed oak, beech, and hickory floor joinst sections with a walnut overlay on the face.
