Japanese Shoji Doors

Japanese Shoji Doors and window treatments add elegance and serenity to any atmosphere. Plan ahead for your next remodel or new construction project! These style doors and windows can be made to work anywhere. Even your sauna or shower!

Sliding Shoji doors and windows have been used in Japanese homes for over 1000 years. Shoji means "to block" or "divide" thus making spaces very open or divided into several smaller spaces.

The set pictured is made from Black Walnut and Tiger Stripe Maple. Traditional Shoji are traditionaly made using lighter weight soft woods and that is certainly an option. I think in some applications hardwood fits the design best and still makes for a very durable door.

Custom order using any wood or dimension to fit any door or window opening size. Can be made to fit inside or on face of framed door or window opening. Pocket Door style can be done as well.

Can be made for both Interior and Exterior doors and windows. They can also be ordered in 2, 3 or 4 panel folding room screens.

Specific dimensions and species of wood chosen determine sale price.

Dimensions: Dimensions are per order. Average door sizes apprx 78"-82" tall by 18"-42" wide. Interior doors are 1 3/8" thick and Exterior doors are 1 5/8" thick. Design of the interior panel pattern is open and can be changed to accomodate and fit any space.
