Johansen Table

This table is an extending dining table made out of American Black Walnut. The key design elements of this table is that the table top edges line up flush with the apron- creating a seamless flow from the top down to the legs. The tapered legs are joined together to the apron with a dovetail joint because the joint itself is beautiful, but it also gives the joint the feeling of security and rigidness. The apron is made with stack lamination- or many layers of wood glued together- to create visual interest as well as creating a stable and sturdy apron.

This piece is finished in hand rubbed oil finished off with a layer of wax. The design is inspired by work by Harry Ostergaard.

I'm now offering this piece as a limited production piece. You can customize a few things to make it your own, but the more you diverge from the original, the more expensive it will become due to difference in manufacturing processes.
