Carl is a pleasure to work with and delivered beautiful work that was exactly as promised. He made 3 separate pieces of furniture for me and executed the work on all of them flawlessly, including 2 walnut tables with somewhat unique leg designs that he had built versions of previously (the "Montego" and "Laguna"), and a novel corner bench with backrests (the "Camarillo") that incorporated unique and potentially difficult features. While I was initially wary about the lack of reviews for Carl on custommade, I could tell from early communication with him that he was thorough and thoughtful, taking the time to create a fully thought out design of each piece I was looking to build. Importantly, his initial feedback and design also included suggested improvements to my original diagrams, which might have otherwise led to structural issues in the bench. Throughout the project his communication was clear and he delivered the work exactly on time as promised. Pricing was fair/in-line with bids from other makers I'd messaged regarding the same project. Carl is truly skilled and I would highly recommend him.
The "Laguna" walnut table fills the dining room with elegance. Great conversations around the table will be the center piece of the home. Guest and friends will be envious. Handcrafted with proven joinery techniques makes for a solid table. It is built with solid walnut wood. Quality finishes provide for easy maintenance.
