Memorial- Dorothy Tripp
This is Dorothy Tripp, my grandmother. She was a quintessential 1950s' homemaker - devoted wife to a career military man and mother to five children. She sewed, quilted, knitted, cooked, baked...the quilt in the background is one that she made. The pattern is called Wedding Rings which I thought was especially appropriate.
I think it's easy sometimes to denigrate women from that era whose world revolved almost entirely around the home and family, but no doubt everything they did was hard work that required a great deal of skill, care, and love, and that should be appreciated and respected.
