Mesquite Table On Sculpted Base

This is the second table I've made from consecutive cuts of a double trunk mesquite tree.

This piece could serve as as accent table, coffee table or occasional table. The piece is part of our southwestern design series.

This table is available and priced at $1000.

The table top slab with a natural edge is just over two inches thick. The base pillar is sculpted from a single mesquite beam that originally measured 8 inches wide by 6 inches deep. The table top and pillar sit atop a thick platform of mesquite sculpted with drop corners that impart the appearance that the corners actually support the whole. In fact, the corners are about one-sixteenth of an inch shy of the floor and the table rests on a secure base.

Dimensions: Approximately 34 inches wide by 22 inches deep and 30 inches high.
