Made to honor the life and service of a customer's son in the US Navy, this military flag case is made from walnut. The sharp angled corners, however, are reinforced with maple wedges. Additionally, to simulate the stripes on the US flag, strips of maple and bloodwood encircle the flag case. A brass engraved nameplate that lists the honored son and his military unit is attached to the front. A nautical effect is achieved by adding lots of brass nails around the display glass.
The military flag case received two (2) coats of a 50/50 mix of Danish wood oil and a satin polyurethane, followed by a hand rubbing of liquid wax.
Dimensions: Approximately 6" deep x 24" long x 16" tall.
