Olho De Deus

Part of the fun of working with wood is coming across the unusual colors that occur naturally in the world's forests. I laminated end-grain slices of pernambuco with rosewood cross-hairs, framed the result in purpleheart, and dropped it on a gorgeous landscape of koa. The rosewood trim and splines tie it together nicely. I never use dyes or stains but I thought I should reiterate that to make the point that wood is an underappreciated material.

Lined with camphor, signed, dated, finished with color-matched Ultrasuede. 3-14" square. Truly a one-of-a-kind object.
