Open Cube I

This is one variation of the open cube exploration. It is 6 ½"x 6½"x 6½" made using ¼" Baltic Birch plywood. There are nine open octahedra, eight units around one in the center. The circle holes in the center are an important element since the design for the octahedron comes direct from folding circles. There are three ways of viewing this cubic arrangement with two different orientations of placement, on a square face or a corner point that are open triangles. It will have a natural oil finish that it does not have in the photo.
