Chestnut & Spruce Oval Jewelry Cabinet
This Cabinet was featured in Fine Woodworking Magazine. It's construction utilizes steam-bending, bent-lamination, and curved-form bending. It's softly curving shape is comprised of Chestnut, Sitka Spruce, and Soft Maple. A technically difficult piece to build, it stands quite modestly, revealing subtle details as one "gets to know it over time." Note, its shape is not a mathematical ellipse, but rather a more organic and voluptuous oval, allowing more interior space. This cabinet is great in a corner, where it can be viewed from multiple angles.
