Painting | Hyperbaton
Hyperbaton is one of a group of oil paintings I created after observing and photographing the construction of an addition to the Denver Art Museum from 2004 to 2006. These paintings offer close up views of the remarkable structural steel of this Libeskind-designed building (the Hamilton Building). Viewers often assume they are abstractions, but in fact they are realist paintings. The substrate is durably, and the images have irregular shapes. Hyperbaton measures 63"x47".
