Paper Bead Necklace

These are paper bead necklaces made with magazine, enamel, cotton string, and other beads.

I roll and glue strips of magazine then double seal them so they will stand the test of time.

No two beads are exactly alike

I then incorporate other beads of all kinds and/or wire-wrapped stones (wrapped by my husband) in a braided and macrame necklace.

Each piece takes between three and six hours to make in my home studio.

I made these pieces for the same reason I make all of my crafts: I love to work with paper, and I hate to see anything go to waste, especially if I know it has real potential to be beautiful.
