This three piece bedroom armoire, constructed of solid cherry, provided a wonderful opportunity to show the range of style and size that is still very much possible in a small shop. After 2 years of searching on the open market, the customer finally gave up and commissioned this dream into reality. Working with a rough sketch and a few conversations provided by the customer, Cole-Train productions brought life to a simple drawing. The collaboration between customer and craftsman was a positive relationship that allowed for immediate feedback and instant gratification. The center, entertainment, cabinet features sliding pocket doors large enough to hold a 55" television. 10 oversized drawers throughout the entire bottom half of this unit were assembled with simple interlocking construction from 1/2" stock, rated to withstand 100lbs each. Simple beveled corners and 4" mission style crown molding adds an appropriate amount of sophistication without being overdone. An added lighting track and a hidden switch provides a soft glow to the upper open shelf for display practicality. Every commissioned collaboration can always be a challenge but I think we can all agree that the end result of this collaboration is a marvelous example of what is possible.
