Paul Bunyan's Coffee Table
Massive 300 lbs. Stained White Oak Dining Table. The tabletop is a full 1 and 1/2 inches of solid, hand selected white oak. The the legs are 3 and 1/2 inches thick at the top, splayed in two directions and tapered on 2 sides (don't try that at home:). The 3/4 inch thick aprons are full inserted into the cut facets of the upper legs and the buttressed with inch and a half thick oak from the back. The center boxed section of the frame is also buttressed on the 45 with inch and a half internal corners. The tabletop has indexing blocks mounted to the underside, so that the tabletop just sits on the frame by gravity and cannot move laterally one bit. This is one strong, solid table, but the top comes right off (but weighs 240 lbs) for "easy" moving:)!. The table is stained with Minwax Jacobean stain and finished with Danish oil and satin wax. You can't get this at Ikea!:)
