Pedestal For Walt Disney Concert Hall

This was commissioned by the Los Angeles Philharmonic for their (at that time) new home in the Walt Disney Concert Hall. The intended use of the pedestal was to hold a custom-made book of signatures of the guest pianists who perform in the concert hall.

The stand was made out of padauk, a finely grained hardwood. Padauk is bright orange when cut, but develops a beautiful orange-brown patina as it ages.
