My portfolio picture is of me hand planing the 4X4 beams that I used for the legs and structure of this mammoth of a table. This was constructed of American Chestnut wood and was finished using a spar urethane so that it could hold up against the weather. If you look closely at the planks that made the top you can see the marks from the floor saw from which they were cut. I could feel the history of the wood while crafting this piece and loved every minute of it.
