A Post Office Savings Bank Home Safe Money Box.


"Post Office Savings Bank" and Royal Arms in gilt to front. Bottom of safe with coin slot and hole for rolled notes, engraved "Patents 371140 and 375043 Pearson-Page-Jewsbury Co. Ltd., B'ham" (patents issued 1932).

These safes were issued by Banks to customers. There were no keys - once you put the money in it could only be removed by taking it to the bank who would unlock it and pay it into your account
