The oak has a light rosewood stain and is protected by a hard wax finish. The bases is made of mild steel Sq tubing.

USE THIS MAKER. He is AMAZING. I just opened a restaurant in Brooklyn and needed barstools in a timely manner - Jonathan, who is a self-taught wood and metal worker - made barstools to my exact specifications with beautiful reclaimed wood and solid metal frames. He got the project done on a short and expedited timeline, and then delivered the stools when it worked for me. I was so happy with his work, that I had him make a kickstand to match for the bar, which he did in a rush for me in days. I only wish I had found him before I had ordered my chairs and tables, because it would have been awesome to have him to all of the furniture for the restaurant.
