Reclaimed Wood & Steel Desk - 3 Drawers, Douglas Fir
Beautiful top constructed of reclaimed Douglas Fir, harvested from an old building outside of Portland. I was careful to salvage the original saw marks on the wood, which gives this piece so much character and history. The top has been carefully sealed to protect the wood and ensure the desk can take a beating over the years, while still maintaining the rustic and rough-hewn vibrancy of the Douglas Fir.
The frame is constructed of steel, which I welded, sanded and then finished with a simple oil. The drawer pulls are also custom, handmade and welded from reclaimed steel. Each drawer is set in soft-close tracks, and opens/closes smoothly.
