This 12.625"x44.125" Vintage Replica Sign is produced fro a customer in Canada that wanted something in her home to remember the family business.

We were given a very degraded, low res image of the original sign as it hung on the building. We were asked to recapture the scale of the sign and lettering.

Partnering with the client, we worked through all details including font height, thickness and spacing. Then we worked on setting the margins for spacing distance on outer borders.

We then constructed the sign base and frame to scale and finished frame to match sign background.. Before we began the lettering process, we blended various dark toned stains with flat enamel black to achieve a sooty look as if saturated by decades of vehicle exhaust.

Once the frame and background base colors were just right, we began the lettering process. Once we were satisfied with the lettering, it was time to begin phase two of our distressing process.

Finally, after we were happy with the results, we installed the frame, distressed everything again and again to show many years of weathering the New England elements.
