The story:
I bought a unit of Chinquapin to build a kitchen for a beautiful custom home in Oregon. While I was at the mill I spotted this pile of spalted Chinquapin. The guys were going to burn it. I couldn't let that happen as I could see the great potential in each board. I have kept these boards for 10 years wondering what they would eventually "be". One day I realized they need to be this dining table.
It is amazingly gorgeous, solid, hand made, and thoughtfully designed.
Each board has an incredible uniqueness to it. It is custom built with no skirt and solid wood laminated beams fit together with a spline. At 2 1/4" thick, I can stand on it and there's not a sound or flex to be made.
This table will last far beyond my lifetime. Custom made with walnut and maple accents.
