Floating shelves are a simple elegant design choice for a clean modern look. A reclaimed rustic pine shell hides the internal supports, creating the illusion of a solid piece of wood without the traditional support brackets.
They are available in custom sizes for flexible use in any part of the house from a living room mantle to a wine glass holder in the kitchen. The size shown here is 72"L x 12"W x 2.5"H
The installation of these shelves is fairly simple. (see attached for details) The hidden support pieces are attached to the wall studs and an outer sleeve is then placed over them. Some basic carpentry skills and a few simple tools are needed for self-installation.
Shelves are available as a stock size or as a custom-order. They are priced by size length, width and depth. Maximum width is 14". 104" length is the maximum shipping length. For extended lengths 2 can be pieced together. Minimum height for each shelf is 2.5" due to the support pieces. All hardware and installation instructions are included.
Stock size of 72"L x 8"W x 2.5"D is $300. Same size with wine glass holder is $350. Mantle size of 72"L x 4"W x 4"H is $350. Contact me for specific sizes and pricing. Longer one-piece sizes and installation is available in the Chicago area.

We wanted three floating shelves of rustic wood to mimic the beams in our kitchen. We were so happy with the process and results. They are beautiful and exactly what we wanted. This is a great site and Ron was fabulous. Thanks!
Ron was very easy to work with and our custom shelves came out great. I would highly recommend his work.
Really happy with the work of Ron. The mantle shelf is exactly how we envisioned it. Great communication. Would definitively recommend.
Our shelves looks fantastic. They are unique pieces, custom made for our house and space. Ron is above excellence in communication, which makes the whole process a pleasant experience. On top of that, he stands fully behind his work. We had an issue with some of our shelves due to shipping. Ron took them back, and not only fixed the problem but enhance both the quality and design of them. We are already looking at giving him our next project.
We were hesitant to get shelves made from someone out of state. It seemed odd that we wouldn't find someone local but this worked out perfectly. Without having to run around town all weekend finding reclaimed wood for a shelf pantry project, I found Ron here and couldn't be happier. He was prompt in communication, knew exactly what would work, and delivered as promised. He was way easier to work with than some local contractors and we haven even met in person! I totally loved the floating shelves he made us for our little pantry. They had a rusticity to our 2003 townhome. I would love it if Ron could work on my whole house!
