Sapele And Mesquite Table

The 180 degree swirled base of this piece is made of sculpted mesquite while the top is a single slab of sapele sculpted so that the corners gently drop.

To make this piece, 30 to 40 thin mesquite boards need to be cut from thick stock, with each piece milled flat before they are glued up two at a time. Once assembled, the swirl needs to be sculpted, sanded and finished. The drop corners on top are created by sculpting out the underside of a one inch or greater thickness piece of stock and carefully sanding down the edges to create a light and thin look to a piece that actually is, in the main, quite thick and thoroughly solid.

This piece has been sold but one similar would be priced in the $1200 range.

This piece is part of our southwestern series. It can serve as an accent table, coffee table or occasional table.

Dimensions: 36 inches wide by 16 inches deep and 30 inches high.
