Secretary Desk
This desk was inspired by the window in the top cabinet. The window was rescued from the client's grandparent's house before the house was torn down. The client brought me the window, and asked me to design a desk around the window. The desk's design cue's were all taken from the window, and the desk's dimensions were based off of a nook from the client's family room. It was a wonderful project. It's always a good feeling to save a part of the past, and bring it into the present for someone else to enjoy.
The desk is made from red maple and plywood to fit within the customer's budget. The hardware is brass. The outside finish is distressed milk paint with water-based poly on top. The inside is water-based poly.
