Shadow Box
This item is completely custom-made for the owner and inventor of Quickset. This is a device that automatically sets the hook for you without having to constantly monitor the fishing pole. My goal with this shadow box was to capture the evolution of the device, show-off the completed product, and show the functionality. I did this by incorporating the fishing pole and fishing line into the design. The box, frame, and background are made of black walnut. The logo is laser cut from curly maple. Linseed oil was applied to the wood to bring out the natural color and grain. A semi-gloss lacquer was used to finish the wood.
Each item in the shadow box is back lit with led lights hidden behind the false back. There is a small sensor on the bottom of the frame that allows a 44 function remote to operate the LED lighting.
