This bookcase design takes what is normally just a big box for storage and with a few subtle design elements becomes a beautiful and functional piece for not only your favorite books but also a place to feature your favorite photographs or pottery collection. The cove molding and beveled top compliment the arched bottom rail and tapered feet to give a large piece of furniture a sense of lightness. The bookcase is all solid wood including the shelves and shiplapped back. Rather than the common rows of shelf pin holes seen in most bookcases, this bookcase utilizes strips at the front and back of each side with half-circles cut out to fit an adjustable cleat which supports the shelves and adds to the uniqueness and beauty of the piece. It can be made with custom dimensions to fit nearly any space and is available in maple, walnut or ash. It is finished with an oil varnish and wax.
