This sofa table / console table is one amazing piece of furniture! It would be perfect as a console table, sofa table, desk, hallway table, etc. The top features a live edge slab of Big Leaf Maple Burl. Usually, this highly figured and unusual type of wood (growth) is sliced into thin sheets of veneer and only seen in the dashboards of luxury foreign automobiles. Finding a large slab possessing this exquisite natural beauty is a rarity. The top has been planed flat, sanded smooth and finished in a satin poly. The back was cut straight to allow the piece to nest closely against a wall, or behind a sofa. The facade shows the unique character with its natural edge and bumpy texture. The top rests on dual U-Shaped 1"x 2" steel legs. The legs have been finished in an Industrial look and have been clear coated for protection. The beauty of the natural wood combined with the steel legs gives a nice contrast of modern, rustic, industrial, organic and contemporary appeal.


The finished piece measures: 49.5" L x 13" to 19.25" D x 30" H. The burl slab itself is 1.75" thick.
