Stained Glass Northern Shoveler

This window is currently for sale. It can be hung in a window, or I have made a brass frame that has LED lights in it so the window can be mounted to a wall. The window is 30 1/4" in diameter. The window also has a custom copper frame. All aspects of this piece where done by Robert P. Horan.

I made this Stained Glass piece of a Northern Shoveler for display at the Easton Waterfowl Festival in Maryland. The Delaware Museum of Natural History allowed me to use their specimens of Northern Shovelers to draw my pattern. The duck is hand painted with vitreous paint and than fired in a kiln. The background is from one sheet of glass and the border is also hand painted and silver stained. The duck is assembled with copper foil for a thin line, while the border is assembled with lead came. The Northern Shoveler was the focus of the 2010 Annual Report for the museum.
