A glazed ceramic sunflower, "Teddybear" is inspired by the "Teddy Bear" annual sunflower which is completely covered with petals. This Ginormous Sunflower is approximately 16" wide, 16" high, 4" deep.

Although this is probably the most difficult and physically-demanding sunflower I make, it is also my favorite sunflower design. Done on a dare, I'm very pleased with how it turned out, exceeding not only my expectations but those of my "daring" friend as well!

The Salt Buff glaze is specially applied to create a uniquely variable surface with drips and runs in a yellow buff color with warmer brown highlights.

Each piece is individually fabricated, bisque fired, glazed, glaze fired and finished by me in my personal production and teaching studio, making each one a unique work of art.

Three-dimensional, each petal is individually applied, the entire piece is glazed with a Cone 6 oxidation glaze mimicking a Salt or Soda firing process.

Each piece can either be hung indoors or out or pole-mounted on standard copper tubing. It is finished with securely-attached rust-proof coated wire for hanging and a standard 3/4" fitting suitable for pole mounting. It is water and frost proof for the average high-midwestern winter.
