Floating bookshelf made for a family in Lexington, MA. They wanted to redesign how their master bedroom was set up, and this bookshelf was created to break up the large open space in the middle of the room without creating a feeling of claustrophobia. The shelves are open to allow light to pass through as well as displaying books and photos on both sides. A large flat screen TV faces the bed, while a large mirror helps to open up the corridor to the master bathroom and walk-in closet. Perhaps the most challenging part of this design was hiding the wiring for the TV inside one of the shelves, which runs into the ceiling for power and cable. All in all it's a beautiful modern styled built-in shelving unit.
